The BMW 507 is a rare, two-seater roadster and is one of BMW AG’s most prestigious vehicles. With only 254 officially built, the BMW 507 is a true rarity and a coveted collector’s item for classic car fans. Produced from 1956 to 1959, celebrities such as Elvis Presley and the then Crown Prince of Greece in particular enjoyed the German sports car technology. But not only the owners, but also the vehicle itself played a leading role in numerous films of the 1960s and 1970s.
Series 1 and 2
Two series of the BMW 507 were produced during its construction period. After 43 units, the first series was replaced by the second series. A striking distinguishing feature between the two series is the fuel filler neck: In the second series, this was relocated from behind the vehicle hood to the right-hand fender. A special technical feature of the BMW 507 is the outer skin. In addition to the elegant design, it is made entirely of aluminum, which makes the vehicle lighter. The engine housing is also made of aluminum.

The outer skin
The outer skin in particular places high demands on its repair. As there are no longer any spare parts for the vehicle, all body parts are machined from a straight sheet of metal. Knocking models and power formers are used for this.
