Milan Trade Fair

Magnificent facade for Magnificent exhibitions

Overview of Fiera Milano

The exhibition center in Milan, known as Fiera Milano, is an outstanding example of modern architecture. Since 2006, the site has covered 345,000 m², making it the fourth largest exhibition center in the world. With 8 independent halls, it offers space for around 30,000 exhibitors per year. The organically shaped glass roofs and the free-form facade of the visitor information center are a distinctive architectural feature of Fiera Milano.

The roof of Fiera Milano

The visitor information center impresses with its breathtaking metal and glass façade. Numerous polygons are used to create a form that rises from the ground up to the roofs of the exhibition center. The end of this structure consists of a ring-shaped dome with 32 individual elements, which were produced by us. An individual steel production jig was first produced for each dome element.

Manufacturing the components

Aluminum sheets were produced with the help of the force former and the production jig. Each dome element consists of two aluminum sheets that enclose a substructure of aluminum profiles in the middle. This construction provides sufficient stability at a very low weight.

The surface coating

The sheets were then painstakingly sanded to create the optimum conditions for the final anodized layer. This process not only gives the sheets an elegant and modern appearance, but also a robust and durable surface.
